I am reviewing the thriller Look Behind You by Sibel Hodge which is an excellent novel that I read on kindle unlimited. Sibel is probably best known for her autobiographical work Trafficked about being forced to go on the game by a manipulative drug smuggler who had lost a cache of drugs and was desperate to pay the drug baron back regardless what it took. This book is a fairly similar theme. The plot is a young lady is on medication for depression and appears to have a really bad reaction to it. She wakes up in the middle of nowhere apparently having been kidnapped and with amnesia. There is a manipulative boyfriend who we later find out was dumped after having an affair although she had no memory of all this. He tries to convince her she is mad. At one point she steals £65 from him and goes on the run. One of her friends has recently moved to India so she is in a bit of a quandary about who to turn to as they were quite close. She also has the dilemma about whether or not to take her medication having of course had a bad reaction and it seeming not to keep her sane. Bad as the boyfriend seems the truth about him is a lot worse. It is well written, edge of the seat stuff. This is also one of the top selling on the thriller chart on Kindle at the moment. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it. Much of it is set in Hertfordshire in and around Welwyn.
